This slide was taken from Dr. Stillmans lecture. While this is a graph of the effects a person encounters when they dive deeply into the ocean, Fish can experience similar effects when migrating from different waters that are more salt concentrated than others. To recover from this they will have to migrate to a place that is suitable for them to live in such as from fresh water to sea water as well as to avoid other predators that live in different depths of the ocean. Another type of injury fish can encounter is not enough 02 entering their gills therefore not allowing them to breathe properly.
Starfish, Octopus, and Zebra Fish

Similar to the Mexican Salamander, a Starfish which has no brain or blood, can regenerate an entire arm by storing nutrients with its mouth.
The mysterious alien of the ocean (octopus) will most likely encounter other threats within the ocean such as sharks or bigger fish. Like the starfish, once an arm is lost it will regenerate a brand new arm with its inner nerve bundles. Unlike the starfish however, the octopus can not only regenerate a full arm but its entire peripheral and central nervous system as well. (Sci Rep 7, 2017)
